Shown in this gallery are the twenty-four pictures of flowers and (or) birds included in Kiyoshi's book entitled Kachō Manga (i.e., Sketches of Flowers and Birds), published in 1888. Click on a picture to enlarge it. It is surprising that these pictures are called ‘sketches’ because the shapes, colors and surface details of objects are more typical of finished drawings than sketches (i.e., preliminary drawings).
